QuickSubs is a Mac app with a one-time payment. There is no monthly fee and nothing renews. The licence is for your personal use and you can install it on the Macs you use yourself.
Subtitles come from OpenSubtitles. We provide the account, so you do not have to register anywhere or configure any keys: you install the app and it works.
That access is a service shared by all QuickSubs users, so it comes with a fair-use allowance: up to 40 subtitle downloads per hour. For context, a full season is usually 10 to 24 episodes, so normal use never reaches that limit.
The subtitle access included with QuickSubs is for your personal use. It may be temporarily limited when the number of downloads, or the rate at which they are requested, does not match one person using the app on their computer: for example, a high, sustained volume over hours or days, more typical of an automated process or industrial use than of watching films and series.
Offering the access included with the app to third parties, or building it into another product or service, is also not permitted.
If that happens, the app is still yours and still works: you can add your own OpenSubtitles account in Settings and carry on as normal.

QuickSubs does not download videos or any protected content. It finds and downloads subtitle files for videos already on your computer. How you obtained those videos is your responsibility.
QuickSubs creates no user accounts and collects no personal data. To find a subtitle, the app sends our server a fingerprint of the file (or its name) and the language you want. If you configure your own OpenSubtitles account, those credentials are stored encrypted in your Mac's Keychain and never leave it.
Subtitles are published by the OpenSubtitles community: we cannot guarantee that a subtitle exists for every video, or that its quality and timing are perfect. If the app is not for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you.
